James B., aka djSubtle, started out back in the early ’90s messing around with his cousin’s turntables and a record with a spiral design on the label.  From that moment on his love for music and mixing came to life.  Making appearances in the Florida, Louisiana, New York, Chicago, California and Texas underground and club scenes, he has had quite the experience.

Music is something that I feel everyday…not just listen to.  It makes me move and keeps my blood moving through my veins.

His main style is breakbeat, set into motion by his main influence, DJ Icey.  djSubtle fell in love with Funky Breaks and began to experiment with breakbeat, drum and bass, jungle and later on club/electronica.  He has held residencies at many locations in California, Florida and Texas.  Now he is moving into the realm of producing and remixing, trying to bring a new flavor to the scene.
